This project involves the construction of a new school for pupils from Bryngwyn Road and Queen Street campuses of Abertillery Learning Community.

A 26,500 sq ft two-storey build located on the former Six Bells Colliery site, due to open in time for the autumn term in 2019.

The development will also consist of 15 classrooms and additional learning needs provision comprising of a quiet room, sensory room and a sky ceiling. There will be teaching streets – an informal co-learning space in the communal areas and corridors that are designed to encourage collaboration, breakout sessions and small group activities outside of the a normal classroom environment.

A new multipurpose hall will be constructed also, equipped with a full PA system, projector, screen and a stage with theatre lighting. There will also be several outdoor play areas, an orchard, multi use games area and a mini beast insect hotel.
